We had to be at the high school parking lot at 6:30 a.m.
Everyone was so tired. Who
ever gets up that early in the morning? The
drug dogs came and searched our bags for drugs, guns, and other illegal stuff.
Surprisingly, only half of us got caught with things in
our luggage. Just joking!!!! Two bags, however, did get the dogs attention.
The only thing wrong though was that the dog smelled firecrackers.
At first everyone thought that both the kids had drugs.
Good thing they didn’t… As soon as we were allowed on the bus, everyone piled on.
The lucky kids got the back seat, and those people were all of the
reporters. We had a long drive
ahead of us. Some people slept and
others played cards, although lots of kids
just chose to listen to music or talk with their friends. The chaperones said that we behaved very well and this was
the best group of eighth graders they have ever had on their bus.
They wish that the history trip would never end because they love us so
much. No, they didn’t say that,
but they did say we were really good. Well
that’s pretty much all we did on the first day. After stopping at the Charlie M. Russell museum, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, and a boat ride at the Gates of The Mountains, we arrived at the Budget Inn. People bought food from the vending machines and just hung out in their hotel rooms until we had to wake up early the next morning to start another long, fun-filled day.
