The Trustees of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School met for and their monthly work session on September 23, 2003 in the Whitefish High School Library.

Members Present: Chairperson Linda Maetzold, Pat Jarvi, Dave Fern, Brian Lauterbach, Doug Rhodes, David Kauffman, and Phil Mitchell.

Members Absent: None.

Officials Present: Superintendent Jerry House and District Clerk Danelle Reisch.

Call to Order

Chairperson Maetzold called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Public Comment

None.

Transportation Policy 4329

Superintendent House presented the policy for review including extracurricular transportation and medical service. The board agreed the policy is needed, Superintendent House will do further research to answer trustees questions about athletic transportation and insurance issues. The policy will be reviewed and placed on the October agenda. The board also agreed to place the ambulance service program on the October agenda.

October Meeting Dates

Superintendent House reminded the board of the following dates:

· Business Meeting October 7

· MCEL October 14-17

· Work session October 28

October Community Forums

Superintendent House informed the board of his community forums related to No Child Left Behind and Adequate Yearly Progress. He shared a slide show he will present to various community groups to inform the public about No Child Left Behind. The trustees each agreed to attend one of the community forums to receive public comments.

Adjourn Work Session

Pat Jarvi moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:55 p.m. Dave Fern seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
