The Trustees of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School met for a work session on November 28, 2006 in the Whitefish High School Library.

Members Present: Chairperson Dave Fern, Amy Eddy (departed at 8:45 p.m.), Ruth Harrison, Shannon Hanson, Eric Hosek and Phil Mitchell (arrived at 7:05 p.m.).

Members Absent: Pat Jarvi.

Officials Present: Superintendent Jerry House and District Clerk Danelle Reisch.

Call to Order

Chairperson Fern called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Revision of the Agenda

There were no changes.

Public Comment

There was none.

Andy Sever – MTSBA Consultant

Andy Sever from the Montana School Boards Association met with the trustees regarding administrative salaries. Discussion ensued regarding performance pay, salary matrices, and other possible pay systems for the administrative staff. The administrative team and board team will meet with Mr. Sever Jan. 11, 4 p.m. in the Whitefish Middle School conference room.

Whitefish High School Construction Project

Superintendent House provided an update on the High School steering committee and the facility committee work relating to a potential bond issue and construction project at Whitefish High School. The facilities committee should have a recommendation for the board by December 18.

WHS Activities/Athletic Discussion

High School Principal Kent Paulson, Assistant Principal Jeff Peck and Activities Director Megan Olson met with the board to discuss activity and athletic programs at Whitefish High School.

Adjourn

Phil Mitchell moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 p.m. Shannon Hanson seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
