The Trustees of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School met for a special meeting on February 27, 2007 in the Whitefish High School Library

Members Present: Chairperson Dave Fern, Pat Jarvi, Shannon Hanson, Ruth Harrison, Amy Eddy, Phil Mitchell, and Eric Hosek.

Members Absent: None.

Officials Present: Superintendent Jerry House and District Clerk Danelle Reisch.

Call to Order

Chairperson Fern called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Review and Revision of the Agenda

There were no changes.

Public Comment

There was none.

Student Hearing – Executive Session

At 6:35 p.m. Chairperson Fern called the meeting to executive session because the matter about to be discussed relates to a matter of individual privacy and the right of individual privacy clearly exceeds the merits of public disclosure.

Reconvene to Open Session-Disciplinary Recommendation

At 7:05 p.m. Chairperson Fern recalled the meeting open session. Pat Jarvi moved to expel the student in question for the remainder of the week, and the student is required to complete homework assignments and return to school on Monday. Shannon Hanson seconded the motion. The board discussed a community service requirement. High School Assistant Principal Jeff Peck suggested the community service would be taken care of through the court system and a disorderly conduct charge. The motion carried 6-1 with Phil Mitchell opposed.

Adjourn

Amy Eddy moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 p.m. Ruth Harrison seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
