Minutes of the Work Session of the Board of Trustees
of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School
Held February 26, 2008
The Trustees of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School met for a work session on February 26, 2008 in the District Board Meeting Room.
Members Present: Chairperson Dave Fern, Amy Eddy, Ruth Harrison, Shannon Hanson, Erick Hosek, Mike Ferda, and Pat Jarvi.
Members Absent: None.
Officials Present: Superintendent Jerry House and District Clerk Danelle Reisch.
Call to Order
Chairperson Fern called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m.
Review and Revision of the Agenda
Chairperson Fern advised the board to use the February 21, 2008 revision of the agenda.
Public Comment
There was none.
Power Point – HS Bond
Paul Johansen and Linda Maetzold of Friends of Whitefish School provided a power point presentation relating to the promotion of the Whitefish High School Bond.
Whitefish Bulldog Radio Broadcasting
Superintendent House provided background information relating to broadcasting of MHSA events and the Title IX regulations.
- Big Fish radio – Ross Strauser requested the ability to provide coverage of Bulldog sports on his internet radio station.
- Bee Broadcasting – Mark Wagner, John Michaels, Paul Biolo, Ray Quien and Benny Bee, Jr. reminded the board they have been broadcasting Bulldog sports for 30 years and want to continue to do so. They also have the capability to provide internet broadcasting. Bee Broadcasting desires exclusive rights to broadcast Bulldog sports.
Whitefish High School – A Sports Program
WHS Activities Director Jackie Fuller provided an overview of the WHS Athletic programs. She also identified proposed budget cuts as well as the hurdles to overcome dealing with transportation of our athletes. In addition, she informed the board of the annual Booster Auction on March 28.

Pat Jarvi moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:25 p.m. Ruth Harrison seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
