The Trustees of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School met for its summer retreat on June 26, 2008 in the District Board Meeting Room.
Members Present: Chairperson Dave Fern, Brian McDowell, Ruth Harrison, Shannon Hanson, Eric Hosek, Mike Ferda (8:26 a.m.), and Pat Jarvi.
Members Absent: None.
Officials Present: Superintendent Jerry House and District Clerk Danelle Reisch.
Call to Order
Chairperson Fern called the meeting to order at 8:11 p.m.
Introduction
Chairperson Fern reviewed the purpose of the strategic plan and introduced Ginny Tribe.
Twenty-First Century Skills
Amy Eddy provided a presentation regarding 21st Century Schools and encouraged the board to go forward with the concept.
The board endorsed the concept of proceeding with development of a program to meet 21st Century Skills.
The board developed a timeline for strategic plan revision including 21st Century Skills in the strategic plan. Following development of an implementation plan for 21st Century Skills, the board will review its strategic plan in Spring 2009.
Board Leadership
The trustees reviewed the board leadership as well as the structure and operations of the board.
