Whitefish Board of Trustees - January 30, 2008, Special Meeting

The Trustees of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School met for a special meeting on January 30, 2008 in the District Board Meeting Room.

Members Present: Chairperson Dave Fern, Pat Jarvi, Ruth Harrison, Amy Eddy, Mike Ferda, and Shannon Hanson and Eric Hosek.

Members Absent: None.

Officials Present: Superintendent Jerry House and District Clerk Danelle Reisch.

Call to Order

Chairperson Fern called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

Public Comment

There was none.

Student Hearing – Executive Session
At 5:31 p.m. Chairperson Fern called the meeting to executive session because the matter about to be discussed relates to a matter of individual privacy and the right of individual privacy clearly exceeds the merits of public disclosure.

Reconvene to Open Session-Disciplinary Recommendation

At 5:50 p.m. Chairperson Fern recalled the meeting open session. Amy Eddy moved to accept the recommendation to expel the student in question for 60 calendar days beginning January 29, 2008. Ruth Harrison seconded the motion. The motion carried 5-2 with Shannon Hanson and Eric Hosek opposed.

Adjourn

Shannon Hanson moved to adjourn at 5:55 p.m. Amy Eddy seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
