Whitefish Board of Trustees - Minutes of Meetings

The Trustees of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School met for a work session on February 23, 2010 in the Whitefish School District Board Room.

Members Present: Chairperson Pat Jarvi, Dave Fern, Ruth Harrison, Shannon Hanson, and Eric Hosek.

Members Absent: Mike Ferda and Brian McDowell.

Officials Present: Superintendent Jerry House and District Clerk Danelle Reisch.

Call to Order

Chairperson Jarvi called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Steeplechase Development
Chris Kelsey and Bayard Dominick provided a summary of their work so far including:

Interviews with staff, parents, community leaders
Grant applications
Public Relations program
Enrollment projections
Oversight committee
Feedback on prior bond issues

New approach solves most issues

Lack of communication
Implementation of a Public Relations Plan
Creation of external partnerships
Development of a community asset
Future plans

Budget Development
Superintendent House provided a timeline for potential budget reductions, as well as identifying potential shortfalls.

Board’s Self-Evaluation Form
Chairperson Jarvi received the board self-evaluation forms, and reminded the board of the superintendent’s evaluation.

Adjourn
Dave Fern moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:48 p.m. Shannon Hanson seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
