Whitefish Board of Trustees - Minutes of Meetings

The Trustees of Whitefish School District No. 44 and High School met for a special meeting on August 25, 2009 in the District Board Meeting Room.

Members Present: Chairperson Dave Fern, Pat Jarvi, Mike Ferda, Ruth Harrison, Brian McDowell, Shannon Hanson (6:37 p.m.) and Eric Hosek (6:45 p.m.).

Members Absent: None.

Officials Present: Superintendent Jerry House and District Clerk Danelle Reisch.

Call to Order

Chairperson Jarvi called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

There was none.

Review/Revisions to Agenda
There were no changes.

Personnel Hiring

Superintendent House recommended hiring Nanci Nicholson as a Title I Aide at Muldown. Mike Ferda moved to approve the recommendation. Ruth Harrison seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

Rocky Mountains Transportation Contract
Superintendent House recommended approval of a three-year contract with Rocky Mountains Transportation. The contract provides for a 2.3% increase in the base contract for a total of $425,308 for 2009-10 and amounts to be negotiated for the following two years. After discussion regarding the $3/gallon fuel allowance and the possibility of reducing that amount when fuel is less than $3, Dave Fern moved to approve the contract. Brian McDowell seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
